Thunder Jet's amazing SolidWorks renderings!

Thunder Jet has been utilizing state of the art rendering technology to assist with concept design for new models as well as modifying existing models with new features and changes to standard designs. SolidWorks allows a user to design in a 3d environment and test new designs and features prior to  actually building a prototype. This amazing software helps us to test viability without the painstaking process of trial and error. Our resident designer, Wei Gang 'Damon' Kuo, has put together numerous 3d models which have enhanced productivity and allowed our fabrication team to visualize new products before putting them into production.

Below are a few fine examples of his work.

Keep an eye out in the near future for rendering of new 2013 models and changes!

New Thunder Jet to Patrol in Livingston, MT

The Park County Sheriff Department in Livingston, Montana just took delivery of their new 20' Thunder Jet Denali!
Corporal Gregg Todd and his colleagues arrived in Clarkston to take delivery of their new patrol boat and were extremely excited to take delivery of their new jet boat.
"We are working with old equipment and this new boat will help make our jobs easier and make the river a much safer place to be" Says Corporal Todd on receipt of their new boat.
Park County Personnel Hooking up to their new patrol vessel
The 20' Denali model was built specially to patrol the extreme shallow waters of the Yellowstone River in and around Livingston, MT. The boat is equipped with the modern new bottom coating, K-5, from Specialty Products, which was originally designed for use in miltary applications for blast mitigation. However, due to the polyurea's very slick properties, it makes an ideal bottom coating for aluminum boats which are used in very shallow areas as it allows the boat to slide over submerged obstacles very easily.

Launching the new patrol boat at Clarkston, WA
This specially designed vessel is equipped with police flashers, siren, and hailer as well as a side entry door for easy retrieval of persons during search and rescue operations. With a full enclosure and heater this boat will patrol year round and set up with the Vortec 325hp 350PFi and Amercian Turbine SD309 jet pump this boat hits speeds well in excess of 50mph and will be sure to accomplish it's patrol and rescue missions in a swift and efficient manner. Look for it out on the Yellowstone this spring!
Perfect for extreme shallow water operation and easily capable of handling 6-8 persons

Extremely tight handling and quick planing make this the perfect patrol vessel

New Electrofishing boat for University Of Saskatchewan!

Thunder Jet is proud to announce delivery of a 20' Landing Craft to the University of Saskatchewan!
Toxicology Department at University of Saskatchewan

Initiated in late 2011, the project for the University of Saskatchewan requires and extrememly durable and versatile boat for a variety of projects. Some of these projects include monitoring toxicity levels in surrounding fish populations in order to gain a better understanding of toxins being introduced into the environment. This is the ideal vessel for setting up with electrofishing booms in order to tag and monitor fish in local waterways.

Landing craft under construction in Thunder Jet's rigging facility

Working closely with Associate Professor and Research Scientist, Markus Hecker, Thunder Jet was able to produce a boat to specifically meet the department's needs. Powered by a Vortec 350PFi and American Turbine SD203 the boat has plenty of power to haul the large payload of fish and equipment the boat will regularly carry. Also equipped with navigational electronics, locking storage areas, and a cozy heated cabin the boat will be ideal for the University's needs.

Markus Hecker, Ph.D.

Dr. Hecker arrived recently to tour the Thunder Jet facilities, get a great education on the workings of his new boat, and take the boat on it's maiden voyage deep into the Hell's Canyon. He was very impressed and will very soon be putting the boat through it's paces on the waterways of Saskatchewan!

WA Department of Fish and Wildlife takes delivery

This Monday the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife took delivery of their new 20′ research vessel. Based upon the design of the popular Denali model this boat has a 5 degree bottom and 200hp Mercury outboard jet. Outfitted for setting up fish nets this vessel boasts a tremendous amount of deck space and storage ”Which will be perfect for stowing nets and totes full of fish” say Todd Hillson of the Fish and Wildlife Department. He was accompanied by his partner, Mike Brown, who put the boat through it’s paces at the Umatilla boat launch just below McNary Dam on the Columbia River.

The vessel will be used primarily for setting nets to track fish between the Bonneville Dam and the mouth of the Columbia River.
